Company founder Fanny Chung is an entrepreneurial solution-maker. In 1979, she conceived our vision of becoming a one-stop service provider for forwarding international freight. Her emphasis on around-the-clock service underpins our work ethics and origins as a perishables cargo specialist.
In 1990, Fanny adapted LMF’s advanced logistics network to meet the transportation needs of electronic-component manufacturers. Asia’s printed circuit boards (PCBs) were in demand around the world, leading LMF to expand routes and establish just-in-time (JIT) logistics and inventory management.
In 1997, Fanny invited Allen Cheng, former vice president of Morrison Express USA, to join the team and help LMF expand overseas, starting with Los Angeles, California. Allen now serves as CEO.
In 2005, Fanny relocated to Shanghai to position LMF as the gateway to China’s formidable market. As a firm believer of lifelong learning, she then enrolled in an EMBA program at Fudan University in 2008, for such pursuits in personal advancement bear fruit for the company as a whole.
By 2022, LMF has grown from a regional powerhouse into a seamless global network of 33 branch offices and 500-plus employees worldwide. Today, we’ve broaden our services to the satisfaction of clients ranging from the perishables business to precision technology, aeronautical, biomedical, and pharmaceutical companies.
LMF persevered through the US sub-prime mortgage crisis and global financial meltdown of 2007-08, and is braving the challenges wrought upon by the COVID-19 pandemic since 2019. Fanny believes that expertise, determination, and teamwork will conquer these obstacles and more. The quality of our service will only continue to grow, promises Fanny.
"At the heart of the logistics game is around-the-clock service; we anticipate and resolve challenges in real time."
Mark Lee is an international expert in customs clearance who co-founded Leader Mutual Freight (LMF) in 1979 with our company president, Fanny Chung. As LMF continues to diversify its service portfolio, Mark invests the time to expand his customs-related knowledge and airport networks accordingly. His expertise now spans the delivery of fresh and frozen produce, tech goods and precision machinery, aerospace components, and biomedical shipments.
